Translating A Survey Using Excel

Introduction

Q-Fi has support for 34 languages, with the option to add more as needed.

The translation module has two primary methods for translating a survey into different languages:

  1. Manual translation - copy and past in each label from a document.
  2. Import with Excel - a formatted excel document that contains all the translated labels can be imported.

In this article we will be covering translating using an Excel document.

Here are the steps for translating using Excel

Step 1:

Navigate to the translation module for the survey you wish to translate

Step 2:

While in the translation module, click on the "Export Translations" button in the left sidebar menu, which will open a popup to confirm the file type:

Step 3:

In the popup, select your preference of Excel or CSV.

  • The "Strip Tag" feature will remove all html tags from the original labels, so be careful when using this as it will remove things like bold, underline, font colors and any other custom styling that was applied to your labels in the survey.

Finally click on "Export" to export and download the formatted Excel file
